Are you concerned about public education in your community? Do you want to support your local students and educators? Do you want to improved cooperation between your schools, parents, and community? On May 15, 2025 we learned about obtaining the necessary signatures from Lucy Martin, Story County Auditor; gained information regarding campaign disclosure and finances from Carrie Ann Johnson, a recent experienced treasurer. Interacted with an urban board member, Kelly Winfrey, the Ames Community School Board chair and Bonnie Silbaugh, Greene County Community Schools board member and past board chair. Recently retired school superintendent, Paula Vincent provided input regarding best working relationships. It was an opportunity to learn the “ins and outs” of running and approaches on the upcoming school board election in the fall of 2025.
